Visiting UUCR
The Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke welcomes visitors to any Sunday service. As we say in our opening words, “All who welcome all are welcome here.” We hope you find our community one that inspires and uplifts you, both in what we have to offer and in what you are ready to give.
If you have any questions not addressed by the information on this website, please contact our office at admin@uuroanoke.org or call the office at 540-342-8888.
First-Time Visitor?
Our Sunday services begin at 11:00 am, with children’s programming during and after the service. There is also a coffee hour in the Fellowship Hall after the service. For more information about what to expect, see our Sunday Service page.
- If you prefer, you may watch a livestream of each Sunday service (and watch past services) on our YouTube page.
You are welcome to visit as many times and for as long as you like, without becoming a member. Your presence here is a gift. If you’re curious about what it means to join UUCR officially, see our Becoming a Member page.
Location & Accessibility
Our address is 2015 Grandin Rd SW, Roanoke, VA 24015. We are located on the corner of Grandin Rd. SW and Brandon Ave. SW, directly across from Patrick Henry High School and the Raleigh Court branch of the Roanoke County Library System. There are two entrances:
- The main entrance, with steps and a handicap ramp, faces Grandin Rd.
- At the back of the church, a single-level entrance (no stairs) is accessible from the main parking lot. You may pull your car up to that door to drop off passengers. No parking is allowed in this alley.
Parking
Our main parking lot (paved) is visible from the corner of Grandin Rd. and Brandon Ave. We also have a small, gravel parking lot directly across the street on Grandin Rd. Please be careful crossing the street!
Inclusion and Safety
We strive to provide safe, welcoming, and courageous spaces for people of all backgrounds and abilities. UUCR has policies and procedures that cover childcare, behavior, visitors, safety, emergencies, and more. Our child abuse prevention policy includes a requirement that at least two background-checked adults be present for all work with minors.
