Living The Questions (LTQ) is a group of a dozen or more who meet September – May on Sunday mornings from 9:30 am – 10:45 am in the Olin Room to discuss a book chosen by the participants. We take turns leading the discussion, which is always lively, heartfelt, and full of ready laughter.  We encourage a thoughtful exploration of what we read, typically covering a chapter or two a week.  Books chosen have covered topics such as Unitarian Universalist beliefs or history; social issues such as climate change and racism; and inspirational perspectives on a wide variety of wisdom traditions.

To be placed on the book study group email list, send an email to our church office at admin@uuroanoke.org, and ask that your request be forwarded to the LTQ coordinator, Bonnie Nelson (she/her).

As of September 2025, the LTQ group is reading and discussing “Cherished Belonging: The Healing Power of Love in Divided Times” by the Los Angeles-based Jesuit priest Gregory Boyle, founder and director of Homeboy Industries, the world’s largest gang intervention and rehabilitation program.
