The Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke is a caring, open-minded church that encourages each individual to seek his/her own spiritual path. Our faith welcomes inspiration from many religious sources, welcoming people with different beliefs. In this place, people gather to nurture their spirits and put their faith into action by helping to make our community—and the world—a better place.
Our Sunday Service
When you visit for the first time you will find a relaxed atmosphere without any pressure or sales pitch. Worship includes music, poetry, prayer, reflections, and a message to explore and deepen your spiritual faith. There is child care and a program for the kids to go to, or you can keep them with you during the service.
You will find the atmosphere to be fairly casual, with a range of clothing at Sunday services from jeans to traditional “church clothes.” This is a “come as you are” experience of church.
Our church is a Welcoming Congregation that truly believes in and, more importantly, practices this motto. We respect people from different walks and stages of life. We are also very proud of including gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) people in our membership. We are always striving to be an inclusive community.
