December 4 & 18 – 7:00-8:15 p.m. – “3 Minute Faith Statement – Wow!” with RevAlex
Come, Come on one of two Tuesday evenings in December to play with RevAlex around how you might give voice to your faith. The three minute parameter comes from the academic practice, currently in vogue, of doing a “3 Minute Thesis Presentation.” We’ll do similarly about what believe. We’re also likely to laugh, think and deepen in spirit. We’re certain to enjoy one another’s company and good holiday refreshments.
Please come to the Trash to Treasure Workshop at 12:30 on Sunday, 12/16/18 in the Olin Room. Mangala Kumar and Joan Wages will provide a demonstration on how to make useful articles out of old throwaway magazines & calendars. All the required material will be provided. Come with a curious mind, learn simple things & enjoy some light snacks. If you have any questions contact Mangala at Mangalakumar@aol.com
The PHHS Outreach program will be at UUCR on Monday, December 17 from 3-4:30 (after school) and Friday, December 28 from 1-5 pm. Food donations are great but this year bus passes for the homeless teens have been requested. This would be a huge bonus to offer these students who don’t know where they will stay nor how they will eat during the holiday break.
Please purchase buss passes and bring them to the office Friday, December 14 from 10 am to 1 pm or Sunday, December 16 from 9 am – 1 pm.
This Holiday Season, Reading Seeds, UUCR’s own literacy initiative for at-risk children, will be putting up an angel tree in the small sanctuary at UUCR. Each angel on the tree represents a child and will have suggested books to make your shopping easy.
Please choose an angel and buy a new book and it will be hand delivered to one of the children at Raleigh Court’s Head Start Center.
If you prefer to donate make please choose below how best to donate then you can choose 1. Donate at https://support.firstbook.org/readingseeds or 2. Write a check to UUCR with Reading Seeds in the memo line.
